A Kissimmee man was killed Tuesday night when he lost control during a storm and crashed on Interstate 4 in Polk County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Sean Eric Calloway was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion eastbound in the outside lane, east of State Road 557A, near a rest area around 6 p.m. while passing other vehicles that had slowed or stopped in heavy rain.
Calloway attempted to slow down and steer away from a collision, but lost control and drove off the roadway and onto the shoulder, the FHP said.
Calloway then struck two wooden fence posts and a tree, the FHP said.
Calloway was transported to Heart of Florida Hospital, where he later died, the FHP said.
Two passengers – 25-year-old Sarangela Limonta and 7-year-old Tyler Limonta, both of Kissimmee — suffered minor injuries, the FHP said.
