Three sought after armed robbery, gunfire at Tampa strip club
TAMPA - An armed robbery at an adult nightclub early Monday morning ended with gunfire as the thieves fled with money from a cash register and tip jar, Tampa police said. During the gunfire, a bullet grazed a security guard at the Play Pen Gentlemen's Club, 1715 N. 50th St. The guard did not require medical attention, police said. At 4:40 a.m., a man stole a gold chain from a patron inside the strip club and a struggle broke out, police said. During the fight, two other men pushed a door attendant and stole money from the cash register and tip jar, police said. The guard was shot at as he followed the thieves out of the club, police said. The patron who was robbed and another patron returned gunfire at the thieves, who left in a gray or silver newer-model Chevrolet Impala, police said.Three vehicles in the parking lot were damaged in the crossfire, police said.
