Tampa Theatre goes digital this month
The 86-year-old Tampa Theater officially will make the switch from 35 mm film reels to digital cinema technology at the end of the month.
The theater will host a free public screening of the documentary “Samsara” at 7:30 p.m. on April 30 to celebrate and debut the new cinematography equipment. Before the screening, theater president and CEO John Bell will speak about the new equipment and renovations.
Supporters of the historic theater, built in 1926, have been fundraising for more than a year to raise the money needed to make the switch.
