Tampa crash involving semi, police car closes part of Kennedy Blvd.
Both directions of Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa have reopened this morning, about three hours after a crash involving a semi-tractor trailer and a police vehicle caused a fuel spill and closed a portion of the road. The crash forced the closure of the road between Dale Mabry Highway and Hale Avenue. Tampa police say the driver of the semi attempted a wide U-turn and struck the police vehicle before 5 a.m., causing the semiís tank to rupture and spilling diesel fuel onto the roadway. Hazmat crews were on the scene, and no injuries were reported.Stay with TBO.com for updates.
