Faces of Foreclosure
The surge of foreclosures sweeping the nation is historical. Thousands of Tampa Bay area homes fall into foreclosure each month and at twice the national rate. Lives are upended as the crisis creeps into local communities, leaving swaths of vacant homes and frustrated neighbors.

About The Results
Glossary of Terms:
DEFAULT Lender notifies owner of intent to sue to recover property. This is typically done after the owner misses three consecutive payments.
AUCTION If delinquent payments continue, the property is offered for sale at an auction. Lenders first give public notice of the auction.
REPOSSESSION If the auction is unsuccessful, the lender takes control of the property and attempts to resell it.
