Man shot, runs for help to Bahama Breeze with suspects following

TAMPA — Attackers shot a Tampa man Monday night as he sat in his car then chased him as he fled to a nearby restaurant to get help, Tampa police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

The incident occurred at about 7:05 p.m. on Monday outside the Post Rocky Point Apartments, 7041 Bonaventure Drive. Two men approached Justin A. Sierra, 23, of Land O’ Lakes, as he sat in his car with Saraiya J. Garcia, 18, also of Land O’Lakes, and shot him, police said.

The victims and the suspects know each other and were involved in an ongoing argument, police said.

The victims fled to the parking lot of the Bahama Breeze Restaurant, 3045 N Rocky Point Drive, and the suspects followed, police said.

While Sierra ran inside for help, the suspects stole his car at gunpoint then left it behind and fled in their own vehicle.
