TAMPA — A 19-year-old Riverview woman died Wednesday after losing control of her motorcycle on North 30th Street, police said.
April N. Havens was riding a 2008 Yamaha south on 30th Street at a high rate of speed when she crossed train tracks near 109th Avenue about 10:20 a.m., Tampa police said. As the motorcycle crossed the tracks, it began to wobble and Havens lost control. She was thrown from the bike when it struck a curb. The motorcycle continued south and struck a car parked in the lot of a Holiday Inn.
Havens, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital.
