WIMAUMA — A man was killed Wednesday when he turned his sedan into the path of a sport utility vehicle on U.S. 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man, whose name and age and were not released, tried to turn his 2002 Toyota Camry south onto U.S. 301 from westbound Bill Tucker Road about 9 p.m. and traveled into the path of a northbound Ford Escape, according to the FHP.
The Escape collided with the driver’s side of the Camry, pushing it onto the shoulder. The driver of the Camry died at the scene, troopers said. The Escape’s driver, Cassidy Larson, 20, of Riverview was treated for minor injuries.
Troopers were working to identify the man and notify his family.
