FHP: One dead, three seriously injured in head-on Pasco crash

DADE CITY — A Dade City man was killed and three others were seriously injured after a pickup truck and motorcycle crashed head-on Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Floyd Williamson, 72, of Lakeland, was driving northbound on U.S. 98 near Stanton Hall Drive when he entered the southbound lane in an attempt to pass a slower vehicle, authorities said.

Williamson’s 2007 Honda pickup truck then struck the victim’s 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle head-on, FHP said.

The motorcyclist, 31-year-old Daniel Reed, was ejected from the Kawasaki and died at the scene, FHP said. He was wearing a helmet.

Williamson and two passengers, Loretta Williamson, 72, and Mary Ann Gutierrez, 48, were taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center with serious injuries, authorities said.
