TRINITY — A 49-year-old man was struck and killed early Monday morning by a sport-utility vehicle as he walked in the center of westbound Trinity Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Phillip Meadows, of New Port Richey, was wearing dark clothing while walking along an unlighted part of Trinity Boulevard, west of Tamarind Boulevard.
Then at about 5:30 a.m. he was struck by a westbound Mercedes Benz ML430 driven by David Moaney, 63, the FHP said.
Meadows was pronounced dead at the scene. Charges may be pending, according to the FHP.
