More than 100 female dancers hoping to become a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders auditioned at the USF Sun Dome on Sunday.
The open call began at 10 a.m. with the women dressed in two-piece aerobic or dance attire on the basketball court in front of a panel of judges.
They were taught a dance routine, — a turn, a leap, right and left kicks and choreography — before performing it in front of the judges.
Those who made it through the first round were asked to stay for the semifinals in the afternoon. If they make it to the finals, they will take part in a training camp and rehearsals. They will also be interviewed and tested on fitness, team history and dance technique.
On May 8, they will learn if they are members of the squad.
