18-year-old Brooksville man charged with sex crimes
BROOKSVILLE - An 18-year-old Brooksville man was arrested Wednesday and charged with sex crimes against two girls, ages 14 and 15. According to a sheriff's office arrest affidavit, Matthew Glen Thomas had sexual intercourse with the victims, who live under the same roof with the suspect. One of the girls told deputies that Thomas lived at the same residence as her, while Thomas worked for her father. The 14-year-old said she and Thomas became friends, which led them to kissing on more than one occasion. That later turned into sexual intercourse. During the investigation, deputies recovered a journal written by the teen that described losing her virginity to the suspect.A 15-year-old also disclosed to deputies she, too, became friends with Thomas who asked her during one occasion if she was ready to have sex with him, the report said. The victim replied "she thought she was, and agreed," according to the report. Thomas admitted his offenses to deputies. He was charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. Thomas was transported to the Hernando County Jail and held on $25,000 bond.
