Police: Son of ex-Lightning coach arrested
TAMPA - The teenage son of former Tampa Bay Lightning coach John Tortorella was arrested this morning after ignoring commands to leave a downtown intersection, police said. Dominick J. Tortorella faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing or opposing an officer without violence following the incident at 1:14 a.m. at Madison and Franklin streets, police said. Tortorella, 19, who gave a Tallahassee address, was released on $500 bail, records state. Tampa police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said officers were assisting agents with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives when the incident occurred. She said Tortorella pressed against officers and refused their repeated orders to go across the street.
