Feeling much safer in Florida

I am getting sick to death of Arthur C. Hayhoe's inane droning about gun violence (" 'Very little' gun control," Your Views, Aug. 3). In 2008, we moved to Florida from the New York metropolitan area, which has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, similar to Chicago, "Killa-delphia" and Washington, D.C. I'll take Florida any day. We should have moved here 20 years ago. Florida's a great state, and we feel 50 times safer here than in northeast New Jersey (Soprano country) or in any of those other strict anti-gun fiefdoms that offer false security. Richard M.
