Michael Lohan transferred from hospital to jail
TAMPA - Michael Lohan is out of the hospital and back in jail. The father of actress and tabloid queen Lindsay Lohan was transferred to the Hillsborough County jail this evening after being released from Tampa General Hospital after he fell 34 feet from the roof of the Tahitian Inn while trying to elude police. Lohan was first arrested Tuesday, accused of beating his on-again, off-again girlfriend Kate Major. Authorities said Lohan, 51, violated the terms of his release by calling Major hours after he posted $5,000 bail on Wednesday. Major, a former reporter for The Star tabloid, told Tampa police Lohan had threatened her.When officers went to the Tahitian Inn to arrest him, police said, Lohan tried to run away and possibly broke his foot in the fall. . Debbie Carter, sheriff's spokeswoman, said Lohan will be held in administrative confinement in the infirmary at the Falkenburg Jail; he is scheduled to appear before a judge Saturday morning to have his bail status reviewed. His daughter gained notoriety for her partying and her own run-ins with the law in Los Angeles. He publicist said she has distanced herself from her father. Lindsay Lohan is currently performing court-ordered community service in the L.A. County morgue for a probation violation. She also reportedly posed for Playboy this week. Michael Lohan, who appeared on season 5 of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," told police he moved to Tampa to get away from the publicity surrounding his celebrity daughter.
