HIGHER TUITION
Base undergraduate tuition for Florida residents, without fees, is priced at $77.40 a credit hour at the state's 11 public universities.
A 6 percent increase means a student taking 15 credit hours of classes will pay $70 more a semester.
Undergraduate students at the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of South Florida and the University of Central Florida will pay 15 percent more in tuition than the base. That means a per-semester increase of $175 for the same student.
