Man, 28, killed when in crash on U.S. 19 in Pinellas
A 28-year-old man was killed when his SUV was hit by a driver who ran a red light early today in Pinellas County, troopers said. Christopher J. Holly died at the scene just after 3 a.m., said Sgt. Steve Gaskins, spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol. Holly tried to make a U-turn from northbound U.S. 19 at Republic Drive on a green arrow, Gaskins said. A 1999 Nissan Altima, driven by Adrian David Rodriguez, 33, was traveling south on U.S. 19 and disregarded the red light at Republic Drive, Gaskins said.The Altima crashed into the right rear of Holly's 2005 Nissan Xterra, which then overturned, Gaskins said.
