Mail truck burglarized in Seminole Heights
A mail truck was burglarized while its driver was conducting deliveries in Seminole Heights on Tuesday afternoon, Tampa police said. According to a report, about 2 p.m., as the postal employee was delivering mail on foot, two unknown black male suspects forced their way into the Postal Service vehicle, which was parked at 1221 Clifton St. E., and took two containers of mail which likely contained between 200 and 400 pieces of mail. While fleeing, one suspect confronted a witness and tried to intimidate her as she was on her cell phone calling 911, the report said. The suspects went to a parked vehicle about one block away and fled.Postal inspectors said they would notify residents who may have had incoming mail in the containers that were taken.
