Contest seeks designs for new bike racks at Safety Harbor library

SAFETY HARBOR — The Safety Harbor Public Library and the Friends of the Safety Harbor Library are seeking design submissions for bike racks with an artistic flair as two traditional library bike racks at the facility will be replaced with ones designed combining public art with functionality. The winner will receive a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. Submitted design ideas will be reviewed for aesthetics, functionality, site appropriateness and creativity by a group including members of the library advisory committee, the Friends of the Safety Harbor Library and library staffers. Bike rack designs must fit in a maximum footprint of 10 feet long by 3 feet wide, include no sharp edges and be appropriate for public display. Designs cannot advertise a specific business or group.

All submissions must be received by 6 p.m. March 2. Manufacturing and prizes are sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Winners will be notified by March 12. Visit SafetyHarborLibrary.com for guidelines and more information.
