An 87-year-old woman died Friday morning after the car she was driving was struck by another vehicle at an intersection south of Plant City, troopers said.
Mary Conrad Lane, of Lithia, was pronounced dead after the collision at the James L. Redman Parkway (State Road 39) and Holloway Road, troopers said.
At 9:05 a.m., Lane was driving a 2010 Buick Lucerne east on Holloway while a 2001 Nissan Frontier, driven by Thomas Cross Hoopes, 32, of Tampa, was traveling south on the Redman Parkway. Lane drove her Buick into intersection, where it was struck on the driver’s side by the Nissan, troopers said.
Hoopes reported minor injuries and was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital for treatment.
Charges are pending, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
