A 2-year-old child is in critical condition after being left in a closed vehicle for eight hours, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives said. At about noon on Tuesday, one of the parents of Jadiel Rosario, 1613 127th Ave. E., called 911 after they discovered the child in the vehicle still buckled in his car seat. Preliminary information indicates the family had been visiting with relatives and returned home at about 4 a.m. Each of the parents, Alexander Rosario, 27, and Douceaymee Lopez-Alvarez, 26, said they thought the other had brought Jadiel into the home. The family said it is common for them to keep late hours and for the child to sleep until 11 a.m. or noon. The family has four children, ages 8, 7, 3 and 2. When they discovered the child was missing, they realized he had been left in the vehicle.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and transported Jadiel to Florida Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. The incident remains under investigation.
