Highlands woman accused of striking, biting 13-year-old boy
SEBRING - A Sebring woman has been charged with cruelty toward a child after she was accused of striking a 13-year-old boy, according to an arrest affidavit. Maria Cristina Ramirez, 37, address unavailable, was arrested Jan. 2 after a verbal altercation escalated, the affidavit said. She was released Jan. 3 on $15,000 bond. The 13-year-old boy told authorities that Ramirez "pinned him against the wall, struck him multiple times in the face, spit in his face and bit him on the arm," the affidavit said. He also accused Ramirez of striking him with a toilet brush, the affidavit said.
