HART raises fares, tweaks routes, times
TAMPA - The county's bus system will look a little different — and cost a little more — beginning Sunday. Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority will increase fares, make changes to routes on two of its bus lines and change schedules on five routes. The price of standard, one-way cash fares will increase either 15 cents or 25 cents, with local and limited express fares increasing from $1.75 to $2. Other fare increases will apply to one-day unlimited rides, 31-day unlimited rides, one-day, 10-pack unlimited rides and ADA paratransit trips. The last time that HART changed its rates was in November 2008. The following changes are being made to routes: Route 61LX will extend to serve Carrollwood Baptist Church and Citrus Park Park-n-Rides, previously served by 50X. The following schedule changes will go into effect Sunday: Most holidays will now operate on a Sunday level of service; the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Martin Luther King Jr. Day will operate on a Saturday level of service. Visit GoHART.org for the maps and for the additional descriptions of changes.
