Woman, possibly with tuberculosis, sought in Tampa
Tampa police scoured downtown streets Sunday afternoon looking for a woman possibly suffering from tuberculosis who walked out of Tampa General Hospital the day before. She left the facility before lab results came in showing she had tested positive for the highly contagious respiratory disease. Police said that Sarah J. Williams, also known as Sarah J. Owens, walked out of Tampa General around noon Saturday against the advice of doctors. Bicycle officers were looking for the woman throughout the downotwn area, but had not found her as of Sunday afternoon, police said.The 53-year-old woman was described as black, about 5-foot-6 and 100 pounds with a medium complexion. She was wearing long brown pants, a shirt and a green knit hat.
