Apollo Beach man shook 4-month-old baby, deputies say
An Apollo Beach man was arrested Thursday for shaking a 4-month-old baby, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. Joshua Paul Johnson, 26, was charged with aggravated child abuse and is being held at the Hillsborough County jail with bail set at $250,000. Between January 7 and 12, Johnson grabbed the baby forcefully and shook the child violently. The injuries are "indicative of abusive head injury," the sheriff's office said. During an interview with a deputy, Johnson admitted to forcefully shaking the baby, the sheriff's office said.He also told investigators that he forcefully put the child in a swing and in a crib, the sheriff's office said. When he did this, he told investigators that the baby's head moved violently and wasn't supported, the sheriff's office said. The sheriff's office didn't reveal the current condition of the baby.
