Lealman Fire District personnel had to tread carefully to rescue a tiny dog who got his paw stuck in a recliner lift chair this morning.
Bandit, a 17 year old Chihuahua mix, got stuck in the mechanism at a home in the Five Towns area around 9 a.m. Rescuers took more than an hour to free the dog to avoid injuring him or causing more pain.
“Bandit was really well behaved as the firefighters worked to free his paw from the chair. We could tell he was in pain but he remained calm for most of the rescue,” said Chief Richard Graham. “We tried not to place any additional stress on the little dog and cause him as little pain as possible during the rescue.”
