Family of missing Pinellas woman grows more frustrated
The family of a missing 35-year-old Indian Rocks Beach woman is growing more frustrated as each day passes. Kelly Rothwell hasn't been seen since having lunch Saturday with a girlfriend at the Chili's restaurant at Enterprise Road and U.S. 19 in Clearwater. Pinellas County sheriff's Detective Michael Bailey said that around that same time, Rothwell's live-in boyfriend, David Perry, 46, left for upstate New York in his Honda Civic. Bailey said Perry is not cooperating with New York or Pinellas law enforcement. Rothwell is the oldest of four sisters originally from the Baltimore suburb of Parkville, Md. One of her sisters, Lauren, 28, said she has her suspicions."I think she was trying to leave him and he ... wouldn't let her," Lauren Rothwell said in a telephone interview. She said Kelly is a private person, so she wouldn't have alerted her family about any problems she may have been having with Perry. "She didn't want her family to worry about her and see what was really going on, Lauren Rothwell said. "She just wanted to take care of it herself." She said Perry kept track of Kelly's every movement. "(He) always seemed to me to be very controlling and obsessive with her." Lauren Rothwell went on to say that Perry has a dark side that only comes out once you get to know him better. She said Kelly discovered that and wanted out of their relationship. Investigators are hoping someone eventually will come forward with more information as to Kelly Rothwell's whereabouts.
