Events scheduled to commemorate 9/11

WEDNESDAY

◆ Tampa Fire Rescue September 11th Remembrance Ceremony, 9:30 a.m. at the Tampa Firefighters Museum, 720 E.Zack St., Tampa.

◆ Second annual Remember-Honor-Support Patriot Day Memorial Breakfast, 9 a.m., Historic Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. SOLD OUT. Visit www.remember honorsupport.org.

◆ VFW Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Spring Hill, hosts a 9/11 memorial service at 9:30 a.m. Guests are asked to bring their chairs. The event is sponsored by the Retired NYC Firefighters of Spring Hill Chapter 343 and VFW Post 10209.

◆ Members of the GFWC Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club will wave flags from 9 to 10 a.m. at SunTrust Bank, 21744 State Road 54 in Land O' Lakes, and from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Old Lutz Schoolhouse, 18819 U.S. 41 N., Lutz. The community is invited to join club members, bring the kids and wave a flag to show your patriotism.

◆ Fifty white doves will be released at 10 a.m. at the Polk County Sheriff's Office's operations center, 1891 Jim Keene Blvd., Winter Haven. Frank Fanni of A Touch Above invited first responders from across the country to the event, which will honor those who perished during the terrorist attacks.
