Woman's body found alongside South Tampa road
TAMPA - The Tampa Police Department is investigating the cause of death of a woman who was found lying on the side of a South Tampa roadway on Friday morning. The woman's body was found at around 7:48 a.m. at the intersection of South Clark Avenue South and West Lawn Avenue, the police department said. A person was passing by, saw the body and called police, the police department said. Her death doesn't appear to be suspicious, and there were "No signs of trauma," said Andrea Davis, a police spokeswoman. The police is waiting for the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office to determine a cause of death.The woman appears to be in her 50s. She was carrying identification, but police weren't releasing her name until her next of kin have been contacted, police said.
