Warrant issued for suspect in June homicide in Bradenton
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect in a homicide in June. Detectives think Andres Collazos, 24, is responsible for the death of Jazmin Catano, 30, whose body was found about midnight June 23 at 5960 36th St. W., Bradenton. Catano's ex husband had gone to the residence to drop off their child, and when no one answered the door, he went in and found the body, which was in a bedroom and showed signs of trauma, deputies said. Collazos, the victim's ex boyfriend, became a person of interest when detectives learned he fled on flight from Fort Lauderdale to Columbia the same day that Catano was found dead. Detectives have gathered enough evidence to charge Collazos with murder, deputies said.Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (941) 747-3011, Ext. 2518 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
