A suspect is being sought after he opened valves in a fire system that caused $5,000 in damage in a St. Petersburg tower last month.
About 1 a.m. Nov. 12, the suspect entered the stairwell from the Vue 19 Club, on the 19th floor of One Progress Plaza at 200 Central Ave., and climbed to the 27th floor, according to St. Petersburg police. He then opened the building’s fire system stand pipe covers and valves from the 27th floor down to the second floor releasing water into the stairwell, and causing $5,000 in damage.
The man is described as being in his mid-20s, 6 feet tall, and was wearing a long-sleeve shirt and dark pants at the time, police said.
Police released a video and hope someone can identify the suspect.
