TSA agent finds gun in Tampa-bound passenger's bag

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - A 79-year-old Florida man faces a weapons charge after trying to take a loaded handgun onto a flight at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The Transportation Security Administration says an officer at an X-ray machine spotted the gun in the Tampa-bound passenger's carry-on bag this morning. Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority spokesman C. Douglas Hartmayer says the man, Marvin Duryey, told authorities he'd driven to New York and forgot about the gun as he went to fly home. He has a permit to carry the gun in Florida. Duryey was charged with weapons possession and given an appearance ticket.
He was able to take a later flight after posting a $500 cash bond.
