Trial date changed for mom in Schenecker slayings

TAMPA - The trial for a mother accused of murdering her two children will be moved to April after a judge on Friday granted a defense motion for a postponement.
Julie Schenecker, is accused of shooting her son Beau, 13, and her daughter, Calyl, 16, in Jan. 2011.
Circuit Judge Emmett Lamar Battles on Friday moved the trial date from Oct. 13 to April 28 at the request of defense attorneys who said they need more time to prepare.
If convicted, Schenecker faces a possible death sentence. The defense plans to argue she was insane at the time of the killings.
