A Tampa man turned himself in late Monday night after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with the shooting of a 4-year-old boy with a stray bullet hours earlier.
Bakari Deonte Parks, 23, is being held without bond at Hillsborough County Jail on two charges of attempted first-degree murder.
Monday morning, 4-year-old Renaldo Moore was struck in his upper left arm by a stray bullet fired 250 yards away from where he was walking with his mother, Tampa police said.
Moore was released from a local hospital Monday night and is now recovering at home, police said.
Police say Parks and another man got into a fight at around 11 a.m. Monday in the area of Spruce Street and North Oregon Avenue at the North Boulevard Homes, police said, and Parks fired a gun. The stray bullet struck Renaldo near West Spruce Street and North Oregon Avenue.
