TAMPA — The case of the suspicious package found on a bus Tuesday parked outside the Clearwater Mall has been solved.
A woman returned to the mall tonight and told investigators that she had left a package on the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus. She described the package to investigators, and it matched the one the bus driver found under a seat on the bus.
The package was returned to the woman and the scene was cleared, the Clearwater Police Department said.
Before the woman returned to the scene, Clearwater police detectives were investigating along with Clearwater Fire & Rescue. The Tampa Police bomb squad unit was called to the scene to help in the investigation.
