SEBRING — A woman knocking on doors of residences and urging occupants to call 911 ended up being arrested Tuesday, according to a report released this week.
Eva Christine Jackson, 23, no street address given, Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with battery, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.
Residents on Sparta Circle told deputies that a woman wearing a pink/orange shirt was running around and yelling for someone to call 911, the report said.
A man reported that the woman knocked on his door.
“He stated that the female was banging on his front door, yelling, ‘Let me in,’ and ‘call 911,’ before she ran away,” the report said.
Another resident allowed the woman in after telling him that, “Someone is trying to kill me,” the report said.
When deputies arrived, the woman asked them if they were “real cops,” the report said.
A deputy wrote in a report that “she (Jackson) suddenly lunged toward me, and grabbed my radio and shoulder,” the report said.
Further investigation, the report said, led to contact with Jackson’s mother, who told deputies that Jackson struck her in the left arm.
The mother refused to make an official statement, the report said.
