Sarasota police seeking bank robbery suspect
Sarasota police are searching for a man they say robbed a bank this afternoon. According to a report, about 12:15 p.m. a man walked into the Fifth Third Bank, 50 N. Central Ave., approached a teller, and demanded money while threatening the teller. After receiving cash, the robber fled on foot east on First Street. He was last seen running southbound towards Main Street. Police have identified the suspect as Gregory Thompson, 35, who is reported to be homeless.
