Reward offered in death of restaurant manager in Sarasota
SARASOTA - A $3,000 reward is being offered for information in the beating death of a restaurant manager who confronted men who left without paying. About 9:38 p.m. July 14, employees and witnesses say the Tain "Andrew" Tian followed after three male customers who left the New Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, 6131 South Tamiami Trail, without paying their $30 bill, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. They heard tires squeal a short time later but did not find Tian for some time and did not know how he was injured. Tian was found unconscious in the driveway of a nearby business and transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery, the sheriff's office said. Tian, 51, died Friday of severe head injuries. The suspects are described as three Hispanic men in their 20s with short hair, between 5-feet-8-inches and 6-feet tall, and between 210 and 250 pounds. One has a pierced lip and eyebrow. Another has a rosary tattoo on his wrist and hand.Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at (941) 366-8477 or post the tip online at www.sarasotacrimestoppers.com.
