Reports: Tampa professor dies in apparent Brevard murder-suicide
A Tampa professor is dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Brevard County. According to published reports, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the apparent murder-suicide of a man and woman at South Patrick Condominiums in Satellite Beach. Michelle Muenzenmeyer, who taught at Argosy University on North Howard Avenue, was killed. “The Argosy University, Tampa community, is deeply saddened by the death of Dr. Michelle Muenzenmeyer, professor of practice for counseling programs at Argosy University, Tampa,” Anne Dean, spokesman for the university, said in a news release.“As we mourn the loss of a valued member of the Argosy University community, we extend our deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones at this difficult and painful time,” Dean added. “As the circumstances of Dr. Muenzenmeyer’s death are a criminal matter and part of an ongoing police investigation, the university will defer all additional media inquiries to the Brevard County Sherriff’s department.” Deputies say they investigated after receiving a call concerned about the well-being of the woman who did not show up for work. Deputies say an argument led to the man, Brian Trump, fatally shooting the woman before killing himself.
