A state mowing crew found the body of a woman hidden in the weeds about 50 feet from Interstate 75 near Fort Myers.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office sent about a dozen crime scene investigators to the scene Tuesday, stalling traffic near the Colonial Boulevard entrance ramp to I-75 for hours.
Florida Department of Transportation spokeswoman Debbie Tower says the crew discovered the body about 10 a.m. Tuesday. She told the News-Press of Fort Myers that crews mow the grass in that area about once a month.
The sheriff’s office hasn’t released any additional details.
