Motorcyclist died after running into pickup, Pinellas deputies say
A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed into a pickup that was towing a pontoon boat, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. The crash happened about 2:49 p.m. on Bay Pines Blvd. near the entrance to the War Veterans Memorial Park in Seminole. A 2002 Toyota Tundra, driven by Robert Sterner, 67, of Seminole, was pulling a trailer with the boat westbound on Bay Pines Blvd. The truck was making a left turn into the entrance of the memorial park when a 2004 Honda motorcycle ridden by Justin J. Johnson, 20, struck the passenger's side of the Tundra. Johnson, who was wearing a helmet, was transported via ambulance a local hospital where he later died. Sterner and four passengers in the Tundra -- Cynthia Sterner, 61, Kyle Sterner, 33, April Wolfe, 33, and Robert Pullen, 38, all of Seminole -- were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
