Leto High School locked down after nearby fight

A.P. Leto High School was briefly locked down this afternoon after reports of gunshots at an apartment complex near the school, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

The fight happened near the school, 4409 W Sligh Ave, at the Lake Pointe Appartments, 7202 N. Manhattan Ave., and involved four to five juveniles, deputies said.

There was a report of gunshots being heard, and as a result the school went on lockdown with the few students who had not already left the campus for the day.

Deputies said they searched the area and did not find anyone who has been shot.

The investigation is continuing.
