LAKE PLACID — A Lake Placid man was arrested after his girlfriend reported that he swung a machete at her, according to a report released Tuesday.
Daniel Hernandez Pinada, 29, no street address given, Lake Placid, was arrested Aug. 24 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The events leading to the arrest began when Pinada went across the street to confront his girlfriend and another man, the report said.
During that confrontation, Pinada was accused of swinging a wine bottle at the man, the report said. Later that day, Pinada and his girlfriend argued at their residence and Pinada got out a rifle, but couldn’t load it, the report said.
It was then that he started threatening her with the machete, the report said. The report noted that federal immigration authorities have an ICE hold on Pinada.
