Information sought on I-4 fatal crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information on a vehicle that was involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 4 on Sunday.

According to a report, a red Chevy Suburban was westbound on I-4 on the southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 75. Meanwhile, a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle carrying two people was westbound on I-4 on the northbound entrance ramp to I-75.

The Suburban changed lanes and entered the northbound ramp, causing motorcycle driver Jeffrey Allen Fogel, 46, Brandon, to take evasive action, FHP said. He lost control of the cycle, which traveled into the center grass median and overturned.

Fogel died Monday of his injuries at Tampa General Hospital, FHP said. His passenger, Gina Michelle Fogel, 43, of Brandon, received minor injuries.

Troopers are seeking information on the Suburban, which they say contained three African-American or Hispanic females. They are also seeking information on a white sedan that was present but not involved in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FHP at (813) 631-4020.
