Nine people were displaced after an apartment fire Thursday night in Tampa damaged four homes, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.
Firefighters responded to the apartments just after 9 p.m. and were able to extinguish the flames in minutes.
No one was injured in the apartment fire at 1716 E. 143rd Ave., south of East Bearss Avenue and east of North Nebraska Avenue. Everyone -- including three children -- living in the apartments that were affected by the fire were able to get out, the fire department said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management and the Salvation Army responded to the scene to assist the families that were displaced by the fire with food, shelter and clothing, the fire department said.
