The off ramp and northbound lanes of North 50th Street and at westbound Interstate 4 were closed for hours today after a crash caused a fuel spill, the Tampa Police Department said today.
About 2:36 a.m., a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi truck caused a puncture in the semi-fuel tank, leaking fuel onto the off ramp and the northbound lanes of 50th Street. The crash caused only minor injuries to the vehicles’ occupants, police said.
Traffic was blocked on the off ramp and the northbound lanes were closed as the fuel was cleaned up. The road reopened around 5 p.m., police said.
