Deputies ID FSU student found dead in Chipola River

Authorities in Florida’s Panhandle say a Florida State University student from Kuwait was found dead in the Chipola River.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office tells the Tallahassee Democrat that 19-year-old Saud Alajmi was one of several Florida State students that had been visiting the river near Altha.

The sheriff’s office says two passers-by alerted authorities to the body they found Saturday in about 10 feet of water near a bridge west of Altha.

Additional details were not immediately available.
