Three Florida men were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of distributing a synthetic drug, U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley III said today.
Harmeet Singh, 39, of Windermere, Cean Al Najjar, 33, of Palm Harbor and Michael Petrucci, 49, of Tampa were charged with conspiring to distribute, and distributing, AM2201, a synthetic cannabinoid. If convicted on all counts, each faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in federal prison, Bentley said.
According to the indictment, Singh, Al Najjar, and Petrucci earned millions of dollars from the operation, which lasted from at least March 1, 2011 until at least March 23, 2012.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
