Tampa Fire Rescue says crews have extinguished a large sheet metal fire at the Port of Tampa.
Crews working with employees of Trademark Metals Recycling, 4201 Maritime Blvd., were able to use foam to reach pockets of fire that may have been confined to the bottom of the pile of metal. Trademark workers are using cranes to disassemble the pile so any potential hot spots can be reached. The fire was put out at 7:40 p.m., fire officials said
The fire was reported at 6:23 p.m.
No firefighters or facility workers were injured in the incident.
