A Hardee County teacher was arrested Tuesday after deputies said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her car on campus.
Katherine Page Landress, 26, of Avon Park, was arrested at Hardee Junior High School in Wauchula, deputies said.
According to investigators, information was received that Landress possessed drugs in her vehicle, which was in the school parking lot. A Hardee County Sheriff's Office narcotics dog alerted to the vehicle, and marijuana was discovered, deputies said.
Landress, of 2438 W. Greenlawn Road, faces charges of possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana and narcotics equipment, according to jail records.
She was booked into the Hardee County Jail without incident and later released after posting $1,000 bond, the sheriff’s office said.
The Hardee County schools administration assisted and cooperated in the investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
